The Story of Jovial and Brown Rice

Several years ago, Carla approached a Tuscan pasta factory with the idea of making an organic gluten free pasta with only one ingredient, organic brown rice flour. She also asked that the pasta be pressed with traditional bronze dies, not with the Teflon dies used by today’s large pasta manufacturers. Additionally, the pasta had to be dried at low temperatures. No small feat for gluten free, but she had a hunch that jovial consumers would taste & appreciate the difference.

    amazing texture - so happy to have a new gf pasta brand and shape!

    Every time I go to the grocery store I allow myself to get one vegan/gluten free thing to try. This week it was this pasta! I usually go for other brands, but I was intrigued by this shape. I was so pleased. The texture is amazing. I feel like most GF pasta is difficult to cook al dente because it just feels like you're eating undercooked pasta, but the texture of this was perfect. I was skeptical of the brown rice content, worried it would be mushy or taste too earthy, but it was perfect. I will absolutely be buying it again. Also, so happy to see all the fun shapes they make. I had been getting tired of only having GF penne.
