The Story

We’ve partnered with a small-scale, experienced, family-owned artisan bakery in Italy to hand-craft our delicious sourdough einkorn crackers. They have been baking bread for more than 50 years and believe in the benefits of preparing food the way our ancestors did. It takes almost 24 hours to prepare one batch of crackers, but these artisan bakers truly understand the benefits of this hands-on baking process and are proud of the end results.

    Delicious!

    These crackers are really good and have a great crunch. I love that they're made with fermented sourdough, too. The rosemary flavor and scent is very subtle, but lends a little something special to each bite.

    Excellent texture, but drab taste

    We really wanted to love these crackers, and we love everything else we've ever bought from Jovial. These crackers are perfectly crisp, so we loved the texture. But we were disappointed in the flavor -- we could not discern any rosemary in the rosemary crackers, they tasted "salt-free," and the overall flavor struck us as "drab" and lifeless, which is surprising for Einkorn! They might work if you are serving a powerfully strong and salty cheese like Stilton. We love Jovial as a company and hope they will re-work this cracker recipe with more salt and rosemary in the future!
