The Story of Jovial and Einkorn

When Carla and Rodolfo had the idea of growing einkorn wheat, there was very little of this grain being cultivated worldwide, so they had to coordinate the farming themselves. Their search led us to this farm, where they had been growing ancient varieties of oats, barley, emmer, lentils, and chick peas for over thirty years. They had never planted einkorn before, and now, only a few years later, we are working together on this project in a perfect partnership committed not only to what we are growing, but how we grow it.

    I have enjoyed learning all about einkorn and making sour dough bread. I was nervous at first but the directions and videos are helpful. Its nice to learn a new technigue.

    We received our sourdough starter about a week ago and have already made the artisan bread recipe and the sandwich bread. Both turned out great, our starter is thriving and we are so excited!
