The Story of Jovial and Einkorn

When Carla and Rodolfo had the idea of growing einkorn wheat, there was very little of this grain being cultivated worldwide, so they had to coordinate the farming themselves. Their search led us to this farm, where they had been growing ancient varieties of oats, barley, emmer, lentils, and chick peas for over thirty years. They had never planted einkorn before, and now, only a few years later, we are working together on this project in a perfect partnership committed not only to what we are growing, but how we grow it.

    Don’t hesitate to use whole wheat

    I started out with einkorn all purpose flour but have transitioned to a morning routine of whole wheat einkorn flatbread with just a touch of salt and water in a pan. It’s a great option for homemade bread without any fuss. This is the best flour for that. I hope to get back to making sourdough soon and try to use this whole wheat flour.

    Awesome!

    I love this Einkorn whole wheat flour. I prefer to eat & bake whole wheat sourdough bread. It’s so yummy! It has a very nice flavor and I love all of the health benefits from the whole wheat. I’m so glad I discovered Jovial Foods and Einkorn flour. I have gluten sensitivities and have not eaten wheat products in over 10 years. Gluten free products are okay but not as good as wheat products and GF is so much more expensive. I can eat the Einkorn whole wheat and AP flour without any issues. I’ve discovered how much I enjoy baking and eating sourdough bread and many of the recipes from the website and the cookbook. Thank you so much Jovial Foods for bringing back to me the enjoyment of eating bread/baked goods again!

    Best Flour for Natural Gluten Levels

    I love einkorn flour because it’s easy on the gut and tastes great. I’ve been cooking and baking with it for years. Jovial’s is my favorite. I tried some einkorn flour from Oregon once, and everyone liked the Jovial flour better.
