Borlotti are the heirloom beans you’ll taste in Italy in Pasta Fagioli, and are a delicious substitute for pintos. We make our borlotti beans the traditional way! Soaked overnight and cooked with a touch of Sicilian sea salt and organic lemon juice, our beans are naturally cooked to perfection. Our Italian varieties of beans and our hands-on cooking process produce a firm and delicious bean that is not starchy, and suitable for any recipe. If you love beans, but don’t have time to prepare them the traditional way, we’re happy to do the work for you.

The Story

We love to work in Italy because our manufacturers are large enough to supply our market, but small enough to still do things the right way, even if it means the involvement of many hands. Our beans are grown on small, organic farms in the Piemonte region of Italy. They are sorted by hand before being soaked for 24 hours. Then they are rinsed with fresh water and cooked. The jars are filled with the cooked beans, water and a bit of salt is added, then the jars are sealed and sterilized. Once the beans are cooled and the jars are wiped down, the labels are applied and the product is packed up to ship.

    I love these beans

These beans go with everything. I had them with a bbq brisket sandwich recently and it proved to be an excellent combo. I also have them with steak, burgers, and roast. They are a healthy substitute for french fries.

    Organic borlotti beans

My family loves Jovial borlotti beans!. We use them in minestrone soup or baked bean recipes. Love that they are soaked and pressure cooked and sold in glass jars. Perfect!

    The perfect size

I love beans but these are only ones that taste fresh and are convenient for a small family or a side.

    Great beans

These beans are great. They're the perfect texture and they worked well with the variety of meals I added them to. I'm glad I tried out a bean I'd never heard of; I'll buy more.
