Visiting Our 2021 Olio Nuovo Harvest
Growing up in a family where food was very important, as was the labor and artistry behind good food, I had the privilege of knowing and witnessing what goes on behind the scenes in the production of a lot of our products. One of these is our olive oil.
This year my father and I visited the olive oil family, during the olive harvest. Unlike last year’s harvest, this year’s was not as abundant. The quantity of olives was lower than expected, due to the effects of weather. However, what was lost in quantity was compensated in quality. The flavor profile of this year’s oil is excellent, I am excited for you to taste it!
Visiting the harvest is always very fascinating, firstly because it reminds me of the passion and hard work that it takes to make the highest quality extra virgin olive oil. It takes a lot of care and attention to detail to preserve the integrity of this product, as it is sensitive to many environmental factors, such as light, temperature and exposure to oxygen. When our oil is produced, from when it is picked off the trees to when it is bottled, every little detail is monitored and controlled. This allows us to bring to you olive oil that has the same flavor, and health benefits that it would if you tasted it directly here where we grow the olives. It allows us to give you a little piece of Italy.
Love,
Giulia
